about mango baby

Mango baby is a handmade, handpainted jewelry brand designed by me, Fallon Alyssai, in the heart of it all, Ohio. 

I have been a multimedia artist for most of my life, my focus mainly being painting/collage, but always wanting to expand my art to new, exciting mediums. During a bout with depression and a period of unfortunate artistic stagnance in 2017, I developed an affinity for the idea of translating my artistic style/motifs into jewelry, and pretty much then, mango baby designs was born. I had no real prior experience making jewelry, but was nonetheless jumping head first into making it. I'm very inspired by psychedelia of the 60's/70's and gaudy, over the top statement pieces that feature unconventional elements. 

I really enjoy mixing mediums such as resin, found objects, recycled plastic, tassels, doll parts and paint, making many of my jewelry pieces one of a kind. Using found objects, and hand painting my pieces makes for a very fun and creative process and also ensures that no two pieces are the same, and each customer can get a truly unique piece of my blood, sweat, and tears, my little mango babies.
